Yes.

Back to college, because social expectations will not let me be. Because the system overpowers everyone. Because my parents are breaking their backs to insure that we'd get jobs, never mind education. Because a degree is no longer a certificate of what you have learned, rather a ticket, an insurance to landing a paying 9 to 5 that may or may not get you through the rest of your life with NFA rice and free last ride mrt fare.

Because I don't have excuses to be a couch potato anymore.

In any case, I'm taking up fine arts now. And since it's something I picked, and something I proffess to like, I'm gonna have to make good on my word and finish this thing in four years or less. And enjoy it, here and there, now and then.

Here's to a new lease on life.

Huzzah.

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS TAKEN FROM ONEMANGA.COM (for all your online manga needs!)

"Series Info
Title: Vagabond
OM Rank: 146
Categories: action, adventure, drama, historical, mature, seinen
Author: Inoue Takehiko

Artist: Inoue Takehiko

Chapters: 248 - ongoing

Summary
Shinmen Takezo is destined to become the legendary sword-saint, Miyamoto Musashi--perhaps the most renowned samurai of all time. For now, Takezo is a cold-hearted kiler, who will take on anyone in mortal combat to make a name for himself. This is the journey of a wild young brute who strives to reach enlightenment by way of the sword--fighting on the edge of death."

--sooooo, what's all this about? Well, I've recently gotten myself into reading Inoue Takehiko's other manga, VAGABOND (his other one is SLAM DUNK). And if you're familiar with Slam Dunk, you'd know how his art style veers towards the realistic, something uncommon in manga/anime, and, well, his art just plain rocks. Well, with his new, ongoing manga, Takehiko-sensei's art just went to a whole new level.

Seriously.

You have to check it out. Especially if you like Japanese historicals, or simply enjoy kick-ass samurais and fights. It will not dissapoint. But for me, the one thing that really got to me is the art. The story ain't sloppy either, since it's adapted from a novel, so you can expect a good plot, interesting characters, and none of that tournament-type-thingy nor the usual plot-fillers that's so prevalent with shonen mangas (yeah, Kubo Tite, I mean you, hehe).

It's a great read, so please check it out at onemanga.com (well, that's where I go to read good mangas anyway)!

What's up with that? Why America? Never had any aspirations towards uber-high-power positions. I thought I'd be president of the local library club or something. I'm not even an Amerian citizen, haha!

As well as:

Update my Life... please...

God, I need to update this thing.

So here we are, getting by as a "freelance artist", hoping to get into a college crazy enough to accept me and my godforsaken grades. But all in good time, right?

I still can't get my own comics started, partly because the story's yet to be fleshed out. You know how it goes, it's all done unto the last detail inside your head, but when you sit down and start fleshing it out it just won't go. *sigh* Rex Habagat and Thirteen Thieves will have to wait, I guess.

In the meantime I'm filling in the gaps with more fanart (surprise surprise!)

Oh, and my teaching gig at Ateneo grade school just finished, to the sound of madly crammed final project (I made them do a 12 page comic) and the wafting aroma of Krispy Kreme donuts (in return, I bought them a donut each).

Go JC, i'ts yah birthday! yeah!

No parties, well, no parties like, you know, parties... but having your birthday on the Noche Buena pretty makes any attempt at a birthday celebration inconsequential, don't it?

Will post new art, soon.
